i was tootling around reading about city hot spots, and found your quote about being caught in the crossfire of a turf war. i can attest to the awkward tension of your experience, and couldn't help but to actually laugh out loud when i remembered how it felt to be shunned by a promoter that i didn't elect to come to marquee alongside one night.
good thing i've since upgraded club scenes. i was at 1 oak this past tuesday night, and correct me if i'm wrong...but the bathrooms are insane!
